The world had teeth

Audio : Listen

Just started reading (another) of Stephen King's books - The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. By the third day, I have chomped up sixty pages of it. Not too bad considering I only read when on the bus while travelling between my home and workplace.

A simple, short sentence caught my attention. It said quite simply, "The world had teeth and it could bite you with them anytime it wanted."

How true...! *Shudders* Ha!

As is usually the case, when things go wrong, they usually go awfully wrong. Not just a bit, but a hell of a whole lot wrong! Fuck! That's just the way it is with life and the big bad world out there. No, I have not come face on with any difficulties (yet), but it's just that this little sentence made me stop and give a thought to my life so far.

IT BITES. It really does. And in more ways than one could ever imagine. The sudden demise of someone close, the accidents, the occasional idiot who comes along and screws up your life... IT REALLY BITES - when you least expect it to. There is no timeline or schedule that it follows, the world hits at you as and when it wants to.

How much have you been bitten by this world recently?

Can you do anything about this?

Given time, people become accustomed to the 'bites'. As the experience grew with each bite, you would become better prepared for the next (no matter what it may be). Some people choose to be numb about this.

"Just endure the bites and it will be over."

To The World with Teeth,

Bite me asshole and I'll show you how thick my hide is.
To ardent Stephen King fans and all,

I used the sentence here as a reflection of my personal feelings and thoughts (and bullshit). It is definitely not an attempt to explain how SK wanted it to be meant in the book!

Besides, I have yet to finish reading it!!! Haha!
Ok, enough of a whole damn load of BULL and CRAP!!! Hurhurhur!
P/S: I really think the world has teeth... just last week, it bit a BIG BIG hole in my wallet when it brought about this thing called "Chinese New Year".
