SSDD
Friday, April 28, 2006
Audio : Listen

I've been reading another of Stephen King's books - Dreamcatcher. Not going to talk about the book though. It gets dry for some people. Bah!

SSDD - Same Shit Different Day.

That pretty much summed up most of the days of our lives don't it? Hmm. Dratz!

It's a Friday, leading to a 'long' weekend for those who celebrate May 1st as Labour Day. Here in Singapore, we do and May 1st is always a holiday. Much unlike some countries where the government expect protests and strikes, the holiday here is very peaceful - except for the shopping centres and malls. Haha!

We Singaporeans take any opportunity to shop, eat and relax! We deserve this since we (yes, both you and I if you are Singaporean too) work hard on normal days, right? We certainly DO! But look at it this way. We do the same thing on almost EVERY HOLIDAY we have here. SSDD. WTF! Aarggghh! Hehehehe!

By the way, do you have to vote in the General Elections this time round? I was pretty pleased to find out yesterday that I have finally got the chance to cast my virgin vote!! I don't really know what to say about either of the parties running for my area but if the PAP wins... well, SSDD! Hah!

Oh, have you checked your bank accounts yet? The money from the Progress Package has been credited! Woah!!! And that's just in time for election us!!

Don't you just [heart] our gahmen?! Hahahah!
Addendum:
CTM's Atom nearly got atomized!! Hahah! Nope, it did not blow, but just a day after he bought it, he had to do the itchy-backside thing and tried to upgrade the ROM.

And guess what? The update failed and screwed up the entire operating system! Atom had to be 'hospitalized' for 3-5 days! Bwah!

It happens to all of us, just SSDD. Heheheh!

An Atom for you?
Wednesday, April 26, 2006
Audio : Listen

The whole of this morning, I've been going to the restroom to blow the gooey mucus from my runny nose. It's one hellavu fucked up feeling - nose blocked, runny streams of transparent 'discharge' from the nostrils.

Marcus, CTM and I went to Hougang Central for lunch this afternoon. The main aim was for CTM to get his O2 Atom XDA.

After hitting a few mobile phone shops in the vicinity, the resale value of the old phones he had to trade in were not too good. We decided to head for Kovan Centre to try our luck. At one of the shops, we got a good price for the old phones and CTM happily got hold of his Atom. Kewl! Now, I will have to wait another 2 months before I can upgrade to a new mobile phone...

One thing I have finally confirmed from this trip is that we can trade in as many old mobile phones as we want to... I did not know this in the first place ok?!? I suah ku lah! In the end, CTM traded in his 2 mobiles to offset the cost of the new one.

In the End...
Tuesday, April 25, 2006
Audio : Listen

And in the end, my mum and partners decided to play it safe and not go ahead with the business venture. After careful consideration and weighing the pros and cons, the trio has decided that this was a deal that carried a risk much more than they would suffer - details of which I shall not linger on since their decision is final.

So (for) now, everything is back to normal and that is good.

Back in Walawala-land, Mr.鸡蛋's days are not getting any better. More irritating incidents and happenings than one can handle psychologically. Haha! I am still slogging with my scripts and codes. Duh!?! Walawala-land really keeps us busy, busy, busy!!! 鸡蛋!!

Oh shit! I am turning more and more Mr.鸡蛋 already!

*achoooooo!!!!*

Damn! I think I've caught the flu bug somehow... 鸡蛋!

Of Otak-otak and Nasi Lemak
Monday, April 24, 2006
Audio : Listen

My mum, after CONSIDERABLY VERY VERY LITTLE planning, has decided to start a business selling otak-otak1 and nasi lemak2. So, she got a couple of people to her house yesterday for 'food sampling'. All were encouraged to be critques at this session. None of the usual fantastic, shiok, and other well-mannered responses!

The final verdict? Only the final 'version' of the deep-fried chicken is of street-shop quality, and the rest? FAIL!!! Haha! I am being too painfully truthful to mum here but, she should not blame me for that! Her investment is very much dependant on our honest replies!

My best wishes for her to succeed in this!
*casts a good luck spell*

** bliiink **

Oh, remember I mentioned about my friends' marriage registration?

Well, I was the photographer for them that day and it's been like more than 2 weeks now and they have yet to collect the Photo CD from me!! Hahahha! Too 'BUSY' after the event eh!??!? Hahahah! Anyway, I have contacted Lilian and she's confirmed they were really very busy to even read their emails - that's why did not see my emails lah!!

Don't work too hard ok guys!?!?

1: A spicy fish cake from Malaysia and Singapore. More on Wikipedia.
2: A dish of rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves. Served with otak-otak, fried eggs, cucumber slices and deep-fried chicken pieces.

Wednesday, April 19, 2006
Audio : Listen

Busy, busy, busy!
Pissed, pissed, pissed!
鸡蛋,鸡蛋,鸡蛋!!

Mr.鸡蛋 from my office has been feeling the heat since this morning. Haha! And hell is he pissed! Well, it seems we've hit into a sticky problem with Microsoft Exchange 5.5 and there's a high chance Micro$oft will not be supporting this issue (unless we paid big time) since the software has been placed in the EOL... thank you Micro$oft!

So, for the whole of this morning+lunch time+currently, Mr.鸡蛋 has been going at it and 'fighting the fire' solo man! Way to go! Kekekekekekek!

Well, like he says....鸡蛋!!

Don't tell me what to wear
Friday, April 07, 2006
Audio : Listen

The secretary came around and informed us to dress "smart" on Monday and Tuesday - some BIG BIG shots are coming around the office.

Duh! WTF!

I hate getting reminded of how to present myself. For Christ's sake!!! I am not a bloody teenager anymore!

!@!!#$@$#%#@^@$^%@^^#$*^$(()%&$

Anyway, it's "please-waive-off-my-summon" day again for me! Hahah! What the fuck is that?!? Well, every now and then, I get 'requests' from my in-laws to help them write appeal letters/emails/etc. to the authorities, so as to get the summons they'd received waived. Being the 'helpful' son-in-law that I am, I HAD to do it for them... *scowls*

Eh! All the appeal letters are based on GENUINE reasons ok!?! Heheh! Not some lame excuse just to get off the hook hor! But, what I hate most out of all the troubles I have to go through for this is the handling of the situation by the 'authorities'. To be fair, they do (very often) waive off the summons/fines. The thing is that while doing so, they will usually not miss the chance to give you a good poke with the 'please be reminded that waivers are per case basis...' and that '...you should not take this as an indication of future waivers, etc...' Aaarrggghhhh!

Budden hor I MUST SAYINSIST THAT THEY ARE THE KINDEST, BESTEST, MOST LOVED FOLKS THERE EVER WILL BE!

(Yeah, right...moe's a bloody ass kisser!)Erm... YEAH!!!!

Ok, ok, I tell you about Maple Story!
Tuesday, April 04, 2006
Audio : Listen

In my previous post, I mentioned that I 'had some serious levelling up' to be done in Maple Story (MS).

My first character on MapleStory.
Going to storage soon!

!!OMFG!!

This triggered quite a number of calls, SMSes and emails from people in the mailing list! Hahah! So for those who were interested in knowing more...

Maple Story is a side-scrolling 2D action/RPG game that allows the players to control cutesy little characters in fighting monsters, completing quests and more. Find out more on the official Maple Story South East Asia site! If you want to visit the global site, please go here.

Guess what? Wikipedia has a large collection of information on Maple Story! It is DEFINITELY worth the time to read through the Wiki contents before starting the game creating your in-game character!

As with many games, having some guides would do you a lot of good. For MS, the good resources are available (but not limited to):
A piece of advice. Choose your character class (Magician, Warrior, Bowmen and Thief) and read up on the guides on how to train and assign your ability and skill points!

One other thing for you folks who have been contacting me. YES, it is free - as long as you play the game as it is. Should you want to 'zhng' your character by buying a new pair of glasses for it, a new hair style, plastic surgery, cute hats, cute weapons, etc., there will be a need to spend some real cash. A SGD10.00 stored value top-up card (A-Cash) goes for SGD12.00 in Singapore and is widely available. Damn! The cash credis are even available on the S.A.M. machines!

Please note though that not all items purchased with real cash are permanent. The pets, hats, shirts, glasses, etc. are only valid for a fixed period of time (usually 45 or 90 days), after which you will have to buy the item(s) again. Only hairstyles and plastic surgery are permanent.

That's about all I can say right now... if you are playing the game, please leave your in-game-name here.

I am currently playing on Bootes and my characters are vandyke and valdepoko.

This is not a Maple Story guide. I am writing this based on the limited knowledge and experience I've had with the game. Not all things mentioned here may be accurate but I try my best to be as accurate as I can.
